Brandon was born in 1992 in Pierre, South Dakota. He is the oldest of three children. In 2000, his family moved to the Frazee, Minnesota area. He went on to graduate from Frazee High School in May of 2010.
After high school, Brandon earned his Bachelors of Science in Music Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead. While there, Brandon was very involved with the Concert Choir and served as the Concert Choir President for two years. He was also a leader in his voice class, worked two years as Choral Librarian, and helped out the department whenever he could. Outside of music, Brandon was also very involved on campus. He was crowned MSUM Dragon Homecoming King in 2012. Additionally, Brandon worked for the Department of Housing and Residential life all four years he lived on campus. First he worked as an Office Assistant, then worked two years as a Resident Assistant, and was a Desk Manager his final year. On top of that, he was involved with the Social Justice and Diversity Committee which works to provide programming, training sessions, and other resources for Resident Assistants and the general student body. Graduating in December of 2014, Brandon spent the spring of 2015 as a substitute teacher for Fargo Public Schools. During that short time, he was able to work in four different high schools, three middle schools, and over 12 elementary schools. Brandon was then hired on as the Elementary Music Teacher for Hawley Public Schools, where he worked for six years. There he also founded and directed the Hawley Youth Choir, co-directed the Elementary Musical, lead the after school study hall program, and taught private music lessons. Currently Brandon is an Elementary Music Teacher for West Fargo Public Schools. Additionally Brandon works with the Fargo-Moorhead Youth Choir as the director of the Ruby Choir and performs with the Fargo Moorhead Choral Artists. |
